Update 1: Society crumbled fast when the infected started assaulting the non-infected. People rushed from their homes, clogging up roadways, swarming from the cities in an attempt to escape the infected. That now seemed to be moving in large hordes slowly devouring and spreading the virus everywhere they went. Fighting spilled into the streets, it was war, and the non-infected were loosing quickly. The mass chaos forced me to move as much stuff as I could into my basement. I shut out and shut off the world. I knew everyone was on their own at that point.
Update 2: The days have jumbled together, and yet I figured I must still try to keep a record of time. Unfortunately time for me is now measured by occurrences and seasons rather then a day to day record. News has been hard to come by since about the 10th of April. Cable TV was the first to go around the 5th, and then the phones cut out followed by plumbing and most of the utilities. I am still able to get a little Internet, mostly private servers, but the main network is gone, most likely a result of the rolling blackouts.
Update 3: The world has officially gone dark. The electricity in the main grid has been out for days. Now I only get what my small solar panels can store during the day. I still have intermittent connections to the Internet. Most pages return errors, but some still seem to function somehow. I will try to set up a network of existing connections in hopes to connect some survivors.
Update 4: I have been forced to go out into the surrounding towns more and more. Water and food have become increasingly sparse. I plan to set up some kind of rainwater, barreling system, but that will require a large excursion. I am not sure I am up to it. I still pick up automated radio signals from emergency organizations. They haven’t been updated in what seems like a month. Who knows if they will ever update?
Update 5: My safe house was destroyed… All was lost, and for what seemed like maybe three months I was wandering around in the wild, trying to set up a new safe house. I found my way to an old power relay station, equipped with back up generators and surrounded by a heavey duity fence. It would be a perfect set up, and I was able to wire up a few old computers to run an internet server. Seems I am now the last connection, but I will keep this hub running as long as I have power. Maybe I will find some other survivors, or maybe I will help some one stay alive.
